Sweet Basket Block Will Make a Stunning Quilt
April 2, 2016 | Spring Quilts
| Make One Block for a Mini or Several for a Larger Quilt!
We love this charming basket of flowers. It’s so pretty and easy to make. Combine piecing and applique (hand, machine or fusible) to make this sweet block.
Once you’ve made the block, add borders for a lovely mini quilt. Or, make more basket blocks and combine them into a quilt of whatever size you prefer. Here’s the quilt made by the designer, Lea Anne Brummett of Podunk Pretties.
While we didn’t find exact instructions for making the quilt, it’s easy to see how it’s put together from the photo. Border and sashing sizes are specified in this article.
Lee Anne did a lot of decorative quilting on her quilt (learn more about that here).
But you can do as little or as much quilting as you want. The quilt will be lovely whatever you decide.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
