They Make Thoughtful Gifts Too!

These sweet little patchwork angels make darling pincushions. They also can sit here and there as part of your Christmas or everyday decor. It’s easy to imagine them decorating a centerpiece or sitting on a shelf.

They make lovely gifts, too, especially for angel-loving quilting and sewing friends. Make them up in colors they’ll love for use or display any time of the year.

Pincushion Angels Pattern

Start with 2 1/2″ mini charm squares or use scraps from your stash. A 1″ wooden bead is used for the head and the angels are filled with crushed walnut shells for weight and to hold pins in place.

Add a pretty 1/4″ metallic ribbon for a bit of sparkle and even a 3/4″ charm in the shape of a cross. Optional ribbons also run down the back for holding clips.

The completed angels, designed by J. Minnis, are 5″ tall and 5″ across. Instructions specify enough materials for two angels.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
