Easily Adjust It for Your Size and Style!

Create a stylish patchwork jacket in your favorite colors with this simple project. The size and length can be easily adjusted, as can the patchwork itself.

Basically, you’ll create quilted “fabric” for the jacket’s body that measures your wingspan (fingertip to fingertip) and twice the length you want your jacket. The simple patchwork can be altered as well to give your jacket a different look.

Quilted Patchwork Jacket Instructions

The jacket’s lining is the backing for the “quilt”, and the layers can be quilted however you want. Stitch-in-the-ditch is recommended by the instructions, but other quilting designs will work nicely, too.

Once the quilting is done and you’ve cut out the neck and the front opening, sew the arms and side seams together, and bind all the raw edges. The cuffs can be left as-is or folded up, as shown in the photo, and stitched in place. There is no closure for the jacket, but you can add that if you want.

The instructions are provided by Michaels.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
