This Lighthearted Quilt is a Quick Project
Dig Into Your Stash for the Pretty Flowers!
Fresh blooms in bright colors create a lighthearted quilt that makes us think of spring. It will be a lovely addition to your collection and one to enjoy all year long.
Big, easy applique and a bit of piecing make this a quick quilt to complete. Even a beginning quilter with basic skills can have this done in next to no time.
Colorful striped fabric makes the quilt seem more complex than it is. Jumbo rick rack flower stems are a lovely finishing touch.
Dig into your stash for the flowers and have fun playing with color. Go light and bright like the designer did, or consider other palettes. For example, the quilt will be lovely with bright flowers against a black or deep gray or navy background.
The finished quilt, designed by Karen Dumont, is 52″ x 70″.
You’ll find the pattern for “Simply Scrap Flowers” in the Spring 2018 issue of Quilter’s World.
