Make a Hot Pad, Runner and More!

This fun snowman pot holder is perfect for the holidays. Or make up one or more in wintry blue and white for all winter long. The snowman himself will also be charming on a solid snowflake print (or a pretty Christmas print) for a quicker finish.

This project adapts well to any size, so make a pot holder, a hot pad, a place mat, a mug rug, or even a table runner. For example, make several and combine them in a row to make a table runner or add strips to the sides to make them more rectangular for place mats.

Snowman Pot Holder Pattern

Scraps are likely to provide all you need to make one or more of these pieced and fusible applique snowmen. It will be fun putting together a nice color combination.

A layer of Insul-Bright batting will make pot holders heatproof. You may want two layers for a hot pad.

Each finished pot holder, designed by Deby from So Sew Easy and provided by Little House Living, is about 9″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
