Try Something Different with Wool Felt!
This cheerful group of snowmen will be wonderful on your table all winter long. While they’re a lovely addition to your holiday decor they’ll be right at home all through the frosty season.
The topper is designed for wool felt. Hand embroidery and buttons provide the finishing touches for the applique. If you’ve not tried wool felt applique before this is a great project to start with. You may be surprised how easy it is.
It can also be translated into quilting cottons. Simply substitute fusible applique and either hand or machine embroidery. Sew a backing right sides together with the front, with a layer of batting on top, and leave a gap for turning. Proceed from there to finish the topper.
Choose your favorite colors and enjoy how quickly this goes together. We can easily imagine the snowmen decked out in frosty blues.
The finished topper, from Buttermilk Basin, is 17″ across.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
