Try a New Technique for a Stained-Glass Pillow

Colorful Prints Are So Charming!

A wide variety of colorful prints outlined in black creates a beautiful throw pillow with a stained-glass effect. Not only is this a great project for featuring favorite prints, it’s also a chance to learn a new technique.

Once the patchwork is pieced (or fused to a backing), 1/4″ fusible bias tape is applied to the seams. It’s then sewn down with a twin needle (or sew each edge as usual with a single needle). This innovative process can be used to create many types of stained-glass projects.

Mosaic Cushion Pattern

We love the bright, colorful prints chosen by the designer. The pillow cover has an attractive zippered back (notice how the bright zipper has become an accent!).

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
