Any Color Will Work, and There’s No Need to Cut the Quilt!

Are you short on floor space? Create a Christmas tree from a quilt! It’s an easy project and a stunning holiday display.

Any quilt with an all-over design will work, although a green one is perfect for this project. You don’t need to cut the quilt, so it can go back into your collection once the holidays are over.

Quilt Tree How-To

Start with 1/2″ thick foam core and cut it to the desired triangle shape. Wrap it tightly with a quilt and use straight pins in the back to secure the quilt. Stand the “tree” on a picnic basket or other support to represent the tree trunk. Voila! A beautiful tree for Christmas with minimal work.

Add a star to the top, use pins to decorate the trees with garlands, ornaments, and more. Or enjoy it plain and let the quilt shine. It’s entirely up to you.
