Choose Fabrics That Look Great In Your Kitchen!

Circles of fabric are folded to create these charming potholders. The resulting stars are appealing in any color theme. We love the simple stars (compared to more complex versions we’ve seen elsewhere), and they’ll work nicely in most kitchens.

These potholders are simple to make and go together quickly. The instructions are a bit free-form, as you’ll need to create your own circle templates.

Folded Star Potholder Tutorial

The designer started with 4.5″ circles for folding and eyeballed the large outer circle when sewing and trimming. You can achieve neater results by using a plate or bowl to mark the outer circle once the folded shapes are in place. And, you may want to refer to the tutorial found here for a polished finish when binding the outer edge.

Designer Nana from Free Tutorial did not provide finished dimensions. However, you can make yours whatever size you want. Don’t forget to layer them with Insul-Bright batting for heatproofing.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
