Turn Scraps Into a Charming Braid for Your Table

| May 19, 2025 | Table Toppers
It’s Simple to Make and Has Many Options!
Make a simple braid from scraps for a quick and easy table runner or other project. All you’ll need are leftover 2 1/2″ jelly roll strips, fat quarters, or other fabrics cut to that width.
Bright pinks and grassy greens are lovely in a runner for spring and summer. Other seasonal color themes and most color palettes will be just as charming.
This is a simple project with lots of options. While the instructions are for a runner, you can adjust the width and length however you want. You can also sew several braids together side by side for a larger quilt.
Monika from Penny Spool Quilts provides a free tutorial for a runner that isĀ about 15″ x 40″.
An inexpensive, printable version is available here.
