Excellent Tips for Adding Blocks for Larger Quilts!

Panel prints are great for when you want to create a beautiful quilt quickly. And, there are many wonderful panels to choose from (Annie’s has a wide selection here).

But, what do you do with a panel once you have it? Often you can simply layer, quilt and bind a panel as is. Or, add a simple border. However, panels offer many creative options for incorporating them into larger quilts by placing blocks around them.

3 Border Ideas for Panels

In the following video Jenny Doan shows you three quilts with three different border options. Blocks are used in all three to showcase the panels and to build them out to larger quilts. They’re all easy to do and will work with many panel styles.

Jenny provides design ideas plus many helpful tips for fitting bordering blocks to panels, as well as how-to’s for all three border styles. This excellent video is sure to prompt ideas for your next panel quilt.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
