Scrappy Quilt is So Simple and Charming
Fabrics from Your Favorite Line Would Also be Lovely in This Quilt!
Fabric scraps and a simple layout were used to create this patchwork throw quilt. While the design is simple, the quilt is full of old-fashioned charm. Plus, it’s a breeze to make.
The designer, Sarah Haslip, provides an overview of how she made her quilt. She gathered up scraps, cut 3 1/2″ strips and then cut those into squares. She does not provide a piecing diagram but you can easily see from the photo where to place the white fabric blocks for the diamond shape.
This quilt is so simple that you can easily make your own without a detailed pattern. Sarah’s article provides all the info you need. Just dig into those scraps and get started!
The quilt will be equally charming if you use a wide selection of fabrics from a favorite designer or line. You can also coordinate the colors. Just keep enough contrast so the white blocks pop.
The finished quilt, from Orange You Glad, is 63″ x 57″.
