Add color to your table and protect surfaces with this large hot pad. It’s conveniently sized for casserole dishes although it will also work nicely as a placemat.

Since it’s a quick project the hot pad makes a wonderful gift, too. You can have several completed in just a few hours.

This is a great project for scraps and other goodies from your stash. Bright rainbow prints are striking, or choose a color theme that works nicely with your decor.

The Log Cabin design is created with paper piecing (FPP). It’s a simple project and a great first paper-piecing project for those who haven’t tried it before. You’ll find excellent FPP instructions here.

The hot pad also works as a placemat.
