Four Free Quilt Patterns from Kim Diehl
They’re All Simply Stunning!
We recently shared a photo of a gorgeous quilt on our Facebook page and were astounded by the positive response. At the time we didn’t know who the designer was, as the photo wasn’t credited.
However, comments from our followers helped us identify Kim Diehl as the creator of this spectacular quilt.
The quilt is called Late Bloomers and inspired the nearly identical Midnight Blooms pattern, which is free from allpeoplequilts (learn more here). The only difference appears to be the fabrics used. The finished quilt is 65 1/2″ square.
We love everything about this quilt. The fabric selection is inspired, the colors sing and the applique flowers add a touch of whimsy to an eye-catching quilt.
While tracking down that quilt pattern we discovered three other free patterns for Kim’s quilts that we think you’ll enjoy.
Snowball Blossoms, at 21.5″ x 21.5″ can be used as a wall quilt or table topper.
The finished size of the dramatic Evening Star quilt, shown above, is 64.5″ x 64.5″. It would look great on a large wall, or use it as a throw for the sofa, or a topper on the bed over a simple bedspread. This pattern is also from Henry Glass Fabrics.
Kim’s Garden Grove quilt measures 60.5″ x 60.5″ and can be used like the Evening Star quilt.
One nice thing about these three patterns is that they list specific fabrics so you can match the quilts exactly (provided they’re still available). But feel free to mix up the colors however you want. You’re sure to produce something wonderful with whatever fabrics you choose!
