A Lovely Woven Basket for Storage and Display
Make This Homey Basket With or Without a Handle!
This woven fabric basket reminds us of the bushel baskets that you see at the farmers market during warm weather months. It was designed for jelly roll strips (2 1/2″) although you can cut your own strips from your favorite fabrics.
We can imagine many uses around the house and sewing room for this basket. It would also be lovely on the patio table during warm weather months for holding silverware and such. Or, display flowers or produce in it. Just insert a sturdy plastic bag to enclose anything that might leak or stain.
Once you get rolling with this simple project you can easily make more than one. Keep one and give others as gifts. Or, line several up on a shelf to hold sewing supplies.
The finished basket is 6″ high x 8″ in diameter. The pattern includes a version with a handle, also.
