Go Scrappy, Traditional or Contemporary!
Fabric selection can give a quilt vastly different looks. In fact, that’s part of the fun of quilting – making a pattern uniquely yours by playing with color and value.
This pattern shows very clearly how colors and fabric styles affect the finished result. The quilt is beautiful whether done in a scrappy style, given a traditional treatment or brought up to date with modern colors and fabrics.
Softly colored scraps can produce a pretty vintage style quilt. Bolder scraps will be lovely too.
Create a traditional quilt by choosing one predominant color and a white or tan background.
Vivid colors against black are perfect for a contemporary quilt.
Take your time and play with color for your own unique version.
The pattern, from Quilts by Wing Designs, provides instructions for two sizes:
- Twin/full – 72″ x 88″ (WITHOUT added borders)
- Queen – 88″ x 102″ (WITH added borders)
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
