Express Your Feelings in a Quilt!

This enchanting little quilt from SewHappy.me is a heartwarming gift for someone you love. Its small size means it goes together quickly while looking more complex than it actually is. The touching hand embroidered phrase will stitch up faster than you might think.

Raid your scrap basket to get started. The heart is made of fusible applique with machine stitching around the edges. The patchwork border is made of pieces of the same fabrics used in the heart.

The optional hanging tabs allow for a charming decorative presentation when combined with a small quilt hangar.

This small quilt measures approximately 15″ x 12″.

The center block is used in the following pillow from katrosblog.blogspot.sk. Simple piecing and big stitch hand quilting finishes the block off beautifully.

Sadly, no pattern is provided but it shouldn’t be hard to replicate. Trim the block down to 10 1/2″ h x 8 1/2″ w. Then add a series of borders.

The small squares finish at 1″ square so start with 1 1/2″ squares. The larger squares are 2″ so start with 2 1/2″ squares. The white outer border appears to be about 1 1/2″ finished but go with what looks best or that best fits a pillow form

Finish the top into a pillow or a mini quilt.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
