Panels Make Quilts Go Together Quickly!

Have you ever had a fabric panel catch your eye but not know what to do with it? In this video Jenny from Missouri Star Quilt Company shows us how to get creative with quilting panels – and how to mix them with charm squares and other pre-cuts.

In fact, many panels have matching pre-cuts available, making it easy to create a complementary border or other setting for a panel.

Some panels are meant to be used all in one piece. Others can be cut up and used as squares within a quilt. As Jenny says, let the fabric speak to you and suggest how it can be used.

There are a few things that are helpful to know when working with panels. Sometimes, like any fabric, they aren’t printed exactly on the straight grain. Don’t worry. There’s an easy solution for that. Click here for helpful tips for working with panels.

Panels come in all styles and colors, so you’re sure to find something you like. What a great way to make a gorgeous quilt quickly!

A great source of fabric panels is Annie’s. We love taking a few minutes now and then to look through their selection of beautiful panels.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
