Make a Pretty Quilt from Skinny Strips

Mix Textures and Colors to Make it Yours!

Skinny strips easily come together in a perfectly charming quilt. Honeybun strips were used by the designer but you can cut your own.

Honeybuns are the little sisters of jelly rolls. The strips are 1 1/2″ wide and finish at 1″. Select a honeybun from a fabric line you love for a lap sized quilt (two for a bed sized quilt). Or, cut strips from leftovers or yardage for your own combination of textures and colors.

The Loaded Sandwich Quilt Pattern

Once you have the strips, this is a super easy quilt to make, even for beginners. It’s a relatively quick project, too.

The pattern, from Frivolous Necessity, includes instructions for three quilt sizes:

  • Baby – 42″ x 42″
  • Lap – 42″ x 61″
  • Twin – 61″ x 80″

Add more blocks for a larger quilt.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
