Easily Make This Into a Lap or Bed Quilt!
This sweet baby quilt has a lovely scrappy look even though it was designed for fat quarters. The white strips make the colors pop. Dig into your stash and combine your favorite print fabrics. Just make sure they all have similar values.
The tutorial, by Liz Smith of Rebel Perfection, is a bit sketchy but you shouldn’t have any trouble making this super easy quilt. It’s built on a 2″ grid. Just be sure to check the cutting notes against the diagram to understand what size to cut all of the pieces (a good opportunity to practice quilt math!).
The 4″ squares should be cut at 4 1/2″ to allow for seam allowances, instead of 4″ as indicated. Read through the comments at the bottom for further clarification.
The finished quilt appears to be 40″ x 44″. You can easily enlarge it by adding more rows until you achieve the desired size. While this is intended as a baby quilt, it will be beautifully charming on a bed!
Update: A pattern has been created since we first published this article.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
