Easily Enlarge This Into a Lap or Bed Quilt!

Select a variety of fat quarters in pretty prints for this sweet quilt. It’s a quick project for new babies and one that moms will appreciate.

Choose several fabrics for a scrappy look or coordinate colors to match the nursery decor. Bold colors and fabrics will be just as charming as sunny ones.

Zig and Zag Quilt Pattern

The white background and colorful prints in the version shown here give the quilt a vintage feel. Switch things up by using a soft solid or low-contrast print for the background.

Other fabric styles will be lovely too. We can imagine batik, solid and even plaid and gingham zig zags.

This quilt is an easy one to stitch up. The overall zig zag pattern is made from rectangles of fabric instead of the usual triangles.

While this is a darling baby quilt, it won’t be hard at all to enlarge it to a lap or bed quilt.

The pattern, from designer Evelyn Young, is 34″ x 45″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
