Change the Fabrics to Suit the Occasion!

These pretty little pockets are so much fun. Fill them with candy, flowers, fabric … whatever comes to mind and give them away for Valentine’s Day. Or, as designer  says:

“Fill with treats and love… hang on a front door handle… ring the doorbell… and RUN!”

Simply change the fabrics for little treat pockets to give for Birthdays, Christmas, and just because.

Valentine Pennie Pockets

If you typically keep a candy dish handy, it would be fun to hang a candy pocket somewhere around the house. Or fill one with a vial holding a fresh flower and hang it from a kitchen cabinet door knob. The possibilities are endless!

You probably already have fabric in your stash to get you started. A few ten inch layer cakes squares and 1 1/2″ strips are all you need.

Of course you can also embellish your pockets with beads or other pretties dangling off the bottom. Buttons or beads are charming in the centers of the yo-yos.

This is an easy project to make. You’ll have a few of these pockets finished in an afternoon.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
