These cute little gnomes will be happy to protect any surface from your favorite beverage and a cookie. The mug rug is so charming and makes a great gift as well.

Choose between several design elements to create just the right combination. Add a sprig of holly and a puff ball for the festive Christmas rendition or switch them to hearts (or omit them entirely) for other times of the year.

Use one gnome and a patchwork sidebar for the ‘Gnome Alone’ variation. Swap out the hat and add shamrocks for a festive St. Patrick’s day mug rug.

You can also use a larger background for a mini wall or table quilt. Or enlarge the pattern with your printer for an even larger small quilt. It’s fun how many options are provided by this pattern.
