Tips for Making Eye-Catching Kaleidoscope Blocks
It’s All in the Cutting!
Have you ever stopped to admire a striking quilt made with Kaleidoscope blocks and found yourself wishing you could make one too? The wonderful block designs that can be achieved with careful fussy cutting are simply astonishing.
While the blocks look difficult, they’re not hard at all once you have a method for cutting identical triangles. The following video from Jordan Fabrics shows exactly how to do that.
The ruler used is the Quilt In A Day Kaleidoscope Ruler, although most 45 degree rulers will work. A hinged mirror will help you identify pleasing designs, while a magnifier will allow for more exact cutting (you’ll find a selection of magnifiers here).

When you have several blocks, make them into a runner as shown in the video above. Or, keep going and make a quilt. It will be simply stunning.
