They’ll be Pretty in Prints for Any Season!

These sweet little coasters are a great way to use scraps from your favorite prints. It’s fun to fussy cut some of the squares to show off cute motifs.

While these are perfect for summer, prints for any season will be beautiful. The coasters also make great gifts. This is an easy project that you can finish up quickly.

Eilene Johnson posted a short video to Instagram that shows how they’re made. While not every step is covered, duplicating them from the info she provided won’t be hard for quilters with some experience.

Notice how she used a blanket stitch to sew down the last side of the binding. It looks great and is a forgiving way to finish the coasters.

Along with the video are a few notes to help you make your own. The completed coasters are about 5″ across. You can easily make them larger for hot pads. Just be sure to add Insul-Bright for heat-proofing.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
