Use Flannel Leftovers in a Striking Pillow |
Quilting Cottons Will be Lovely Too!
Richly colored strips of flannel create a beautiful pillow to enjoy just about anywhere. This is a great project for using up leftovers from a quilt project. In fact, a matching pillow or two will be lovely to display with the quilt.
Flannel strips are sewn to a foundation (either paper or fabric) for accurate piecing. They can also be pieced the traditional way, if you prefer.
Add a border in a color that accents the strips you’ve chosen. We love the deep red used here but select a color that works best with your pillow.
The pillow top, based on a design by Sharon Holland, is 17-1⁄2″ square and fits a 15″ pillow form. We can also imagine the top made into a mini quilt.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
