Super Simple to Make, Even for Beginners!

Cord wrapped with leftover fabric strips makes a lovely accent for a table. Use a variety of fabrics from your scrap bag or coordinate around a color theme. The deep colors in this one are perfect for autumn and the holidays.

Leftover pre-cut 2 1/2″ strips are perfect for this project, or cut scraps into 1 1/4″ strips. Once you have the strips cut, construction is easy, even for beginners.

The finished result is reminiscent of a rag rug. In fact, you can enlarge the size and use it as a rug, like this charming one here.

The finished table mat is 17 1/4″ x 14″.
