What really caught our eye is how the mats are finished. A clever method is used that frames the body of the placemats and doesn’t require binding. It’s simple, quick, and can be used for far more than place mats.
Skip the binding and try this method on a table topper, wall quilt, or baby quilt. The width of the outer frame can be varied to suit the quilt.
Plus, you can add rick rack, lace, prairie points, and more between the outer frame and the body of the quilt. The frame, with easy mitered corners, is top stitched in place, providing the opportunity to use decorative stitches, as well.
