Do you occasionally run into problems with your machine shredding or breaking thread? The first step is to rethread the machine.

But what if that doesn’t do the trick? Superior Threads has put together a handy guide to walk you through a troubleshooting process. Chances are you’ll find the solution as you work through the steps.

The image above shows just the start of the guide. The full guide is available below as a PDF you can print and keep near your machine.

In the guide they refer to their Thread Reference Guide, which is found here. While it refers specifically to Superior brand threads, it does list the thread weights, recommended needle sizes and tension settings to help you get started with troubleshooting the brand of thread you’re using (start with the same weight and usage as the Superior brand thread).

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
