Lone Star quilts always impress and that’s the case, too, with this Lone Star Table Topper. This unexpected little quilt will make quite a statement on your table, any time of the year.
If you admire Lone Star quilts but have been reluctant to make one, this is a sweet way to dip your toe in without becoming overwhelmed. Who knows? By the time you finish this you may find yourself ready to tackle a full-sized quilt.
Make a topper for your favorite season, or, once you get going, you may want to make several. Choose holiday fabrics for Christmas, pastels for spring or vivid autumn hues.
The topper, by designer Linda Robertus, is 23 1/2” across from point to point.
The following topper, made by Debbie (dlf724) and sold in her Etsy store, shows a different treatment for a similar pattern. We love how she arranged the values, with white around the center star, and the big stitch hand quilting.
Her topper varies from the pattern in that it has 6 star points instead of 8. However, a similar approach will be lovely made up in the “Lone Star Table Topper” pattern available above.
