Raid your stash for a combination you love, keeping in mind that the more prints you choose, the scrappier the finished look will be. Designer Amber Johnson from Gigi’s Thimble has written an informative article that explains how she made the quilt. It’s interesting to learn how she selected the fabrics.
Her quilt is an odd size at 42″ x 72″ (to fit a specific wall space), but it can easily be any size you want. Just make as many blocks as you need to create a quilt of the desired size.
While there are no exact instructions (or fabric requirements), it will be easy to create a quilt similar to Amber’s using her guidelines:
“I used my Sawtooth Star Cutting Chart to make 7″ stars and did a 6 x 10 layout (so 60 blocks total).”
