The designer used batik fabrics for her version. We can imagine it made up in just about any style of fabric. Large prints, small prints, plaids, dots, checks, and even reproduction fabrics. Finish it off with a border in a color that will pull your fabric selections all together.
The tutorial, from 9 Stitches (site no longer available), is for a crib quilt. You can easily make it larger to use on a bed. The quilt is simple enough to make that you may want to stitch up more than one, just so you can play with fabric selection.
The finished quilt is 44 1/2″ x 52″, suitable for a baby or lap quilt.
