A Scalloped Border is the Perfect Finish!
Delicate details turn classic star blocks into a fresh and beautiful design. Choose a predominantly monochromatic color theme featuring your favorite color.
Or go with any color combination you love. The quilt is also beautiful given a scrappy look.
Instructions are provided for both fat quarters and yardage (1/3 yard cuts). Create a colorful version by shopping your stash.
We played a bit in Photoshop to see what the quilt might look like in blue.
A scalloped border is a beautiful finishing touch. To create the look, use the Quilt in a Day Scallops, Vines & Waves Ruler. After quilting the quilt, follow the directions found in the package to create the scallops.
Instructions are provided by the designer, Andy from A Bright Corner, for the following quilt sizes:
- Baby – 48″ x 48″
- Lap – 48″ x 61″
- Throw – 61″ x 74″
- Twin – 74″ x 87″
- Queen – 113″ x 113″
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
