Imagine This Lovely Quilt in Other Colors!
Shoo Fly and star blocks float across the top of this beautiful quilt. The minimalistic black and tan palette will convey a modern or a vintage feel depending on where you display the quilt.
We love the colors of this quilt and can easily imagine it in other colors, as well. The secret to achieving a similar effect is to stay with a simple palette.
Choose one predominant color (in this case black), a neutral for the background (tan with black) and perhaps the same neutral in various values blended with the main color.
Of course, you can change the look entirely by using more colors. It’s really up to you! However you choose to color your quilt, start with a stripe for the border and work from there.
The finished quilt, by designer Terry Albers, is 60″ x 72″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
