Handy for When You Don’t Need a Larger Bag!

Dresden Plate petals in a rainbow of colors create a striking design on this colorful little pouch. Choose a nice combination from your stash for your own special version.

It’s also lovely without the petal detail. Choose two beautiful fabrics to showcase instead.

The pouch is nicely sized for those times when you don’t want to haul a larger bag or purse. The strap will fit over your wrist to free up your hands while a zipper secures the contents.

While this probably isn’t a beginner project, it is easier to make than it may seem. And, it’s well worth the time to put it together. The finished pouch has a polished and appealing look that’s perfect for many occasions.

Plus, the bag lends itself to embellishments. Play with machine embroidery and various trims to create your own special version. The examples below from Stina’s Quilt and Sewing Supplies will give you some ideas.

To complete the project you’ll need a 14″ nylon zipper, In-R-Form Double Sided Fusible Interfacing and strap hardware (see Dritz Small Swivel Hook and D Ring choices here).

The finished pouch is 9″ wide x 6″ high without the strap.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
