Showcase Special Fabric to Make Them Yours!
This beautiful ornament is made without any sewing and it’s great for showing off favorite fabrics. Fussy cut a motif, showcase a beautiful fabric, or even print something on fabric to feature in one of the four rounded “windows”.
It’s also great in any color theme and beautiful in colors for every season.
This is a wonderful gift, too, that just about everyone will enjoy receiving. Customize the fabric to suit the occasion and the recipient’s interests.
The ornament is made by tucking fabric into cuts in a firm styrofoam ball using a butter knife with a thin blade or a similar tool.
“Seams” are covered with cord or ribbon. Embellish the ornament with ribbon, large headed pins, a bow and more.
The instructions, from Alyx Mazerov Yuasa, can be adjusted for an ornament of any size. You’ll find her ornament-making tips here.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
