Makes Several for Placemats or Turn it Into a Quilt!
Turn a classic Dresden Plate into a striking table quilt or placemat. Bold batiks provide color and texture while extra petals create the effect of a glowing sun.
This eye-catching design will be wonderful in other color themes as well. Go with softer prints, a differently colored center, or whatever appeals to you.
We played a bit in Photoshop to show you how it could look with a different color palette.
The Dresden Plate can also be used in a quilt by attaching it to a background. Instructions are provided for a throw-sized quilt but combine as many blocks as you want for a smaller or larger size.
Instructions are provided by the designer, Judit Hajdu, for the following quilt sizes:
- Placemat – 17 1/2″
- Quilt – 57″ x 76″
Templates are included so no special rulers are needed.
