These pretty daisy coasters are colorful little accents both indoors and out. Not only will they brighten your table but they’ll help protect it from sweating glasses.
Plus they can be made from fabrics already in your stash. Make a set for yourself and others to give. They’re lovely hostess and housewarming gifts.
While white daisies will be pretty with any color theme, the flowers can be other colors as well. If you prefer white, the designer has a great tip for working with white applique pieces.
“Let me tell you the secret to these daisies. White-on-white fabric is tricky for applique because the background fabric can show through. I used a layer of Fusible Interfacing on the back of the white fabric, and it worked perfectly – nothing shows through the white! Snowy white daisies, every time.”
The coasters, designed by Lisa Ruble from Quilty Zest writing for Therm-O-Web, are about 5-1/2” square.
