Incorporate This Simple Step Into the Quilt’s Construction!

Large quilts are absolutely wonderful on the wall. These works of art can pull the decor together while adding a warm and comforting touch to any room.

The quilt doesn’t need to be fancy, either. Any quilt you love can be hung, whether it’s a complex work of art or a simple design that speaks to you. See an example of how stunning a simple quilt can be here.

There are many ways to hang a large quilt, however most involve hand sewing a sleeve on the back. Laura from Sew Very Easy has an easier way.

Her simple method is quick, easy and even provides scraps in case the quilt ever needs to be repaired. Plus, unlike with sleeves, there’s no rod poking out the sides of the quilt – unless you want there to be.

Notice how the hanging triangles nearly touch each other. You may want to add more to a larger quilt than the three that she’s showing here.

This method will also work with small quilts (make the starting squares smaller). However, another method is just as easy and was designed specifically for little quilts. You’ll find the “How to Hang a Small Wall Quilt” tutorial here.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
