Values Make the Design Come Into Focus!

This beautiful quilt was made entirely from scraps. Create your own version and clean out your scrap bag at the same time. Any combination of colors and fabric styles will be great.

The design is based on values, which are arranged a bit loosely to create interest and help move the eye around the quilt.

While the quilt is not difficult to make there is quite a bit of sewing involved since it’s based on 1 1/2″ squares. Plus, you can make it as large as you want.

The quilt in process with two columns of three blocks.

The designer, Jolene from Blue Elephant Stitches, says:

“… (it’s a big block, like 18.5″ square) so to make a nice lap size you could make 12 blocks in a 3 by 4 setting like I did here.”

Three blocks in a row will make a lovely runner, while four in a square will be a pretty table quilt. Or go large for a bed-sized quilt.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
