Make a Sweet Angel Ornament from Buttons

This is Very Simple to Do!

Buttons, a large pearl bead and ribbon come together in a lovely ornament for your tree. You can also add the ornament to wrapped gifts or give it outright as a thoughtful little gift.

This is a super simple project and you can have several made in just a couple of hours. Vary the button colors, if you like, add a face with a sharpie, or get creative with what’s used for the wings to make every one a little different.

In the example above, stacked white buttons create the body while a large pearl bead is the head. The designer used a bead of about 16mm or 1/2″ in diameter but choose what works best with your size buttons.

Wings are made from a glittery bow while the arms are a golden twist tie. Feathers or ribbon will also make lovely wings. The halo is a metallic gold button. All of the supplies can be found at the craft store.

The ornament was designed by Kathy of Kathy’s AngelNik Designs & Art Project Ideas.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
