Measurements Also Provided for Mini Blocks!

The “Snapshots” quilt is comprised of 12 novelty blocks that each capture a happy moment in everyday life. The blocks are pieced, and they’re all charming on their own. Together, they make a spectacular quilt.

In 2015 the Fat Quarter Shop sponsored the “Snapshots” quilt-along. This was designed as a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While the patterns for the Snapshots quilt are free, and the fundraiser is over, please consider making a donation when downloading.

The following version of the “Snapshots” quilt was made by Kimberly at Fat Quarter Shop using the Daysail fabric collection by Bonnie & Camille for Moda Fabrics.

The following quilt was made by Anne Sutton.

Those three quilts were eventually auctioned as part of the fundraiser.

Each block pattern is provided separately. Download as many as you want for your project. If the full quilt seems like too much, we can imagine wall hangings, table toppers, pillows, tote bags and more made from individual blocks.

Notice that the blocks are designed in two shapes. The vertical blocks are 12 1/2″ W x 16 1/6″ H. The horizontal blocks are reversed, 12 1/2″ H x 16 1/6″ W.

The finished quilt is 68 1/2″ x 88 1/2″

If you love the blocks but would like them in a smaller version, calculations for cutting mini blocks have been provided by Sondra Davison from Out Of the Blue Quilts. The mini blocks are 6 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (either vertical or horizontal). Refer to the original block PDFs from Fat Quarter Shop for construction info.

Start with the following link and click the page numbers at the bottom of the page until you find cutting dimensions for all 12 blocks.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
