Make Pretty Pillowcases to Enjoy and to Give
Join in the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge!
American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging quilters, sewers and crafters to help them reach the goal of donating one million pillowcases to local charities. The challenge gives you the opportunity to donate and make a difference in your community.
As part of the challenge, APQ has made a wonderful variety of pillowcase patterns available for free. At the time of this writing there are 61 of them!
While we encourage you to participate in the challenge (info below), you may also be inspired to make pillowcases to match your quilts.
The following examples were made for the challenge by Joanna Figueroa. We love the patterns she selected and her fabric choices. It’s easy to imagine the pillowcases paired with a quilt from the same fabrics.
You’ll have fun choosing between the various pillowcase designs for your own versions. We especially like the following two, but there are so many to choose from!
