It Will be Wonderful in a Coordinated Palette Too!
This woven star block is so charming and will be great in many types of projects. There are four sizes to choose from so you can make a mini quilt, pillow, wall hanging, table runner, full-size quilt, and more. It’s also a wonderful design for scraps.
There are no Y-seams used in the block’s construction. The pattern was written for paper piecing, which will produce crisp and accurate results. However, more experienced quilters can deconstruct the design and make it with standard piecing.
If you’ve not tried paper piecing before, or have struggled with it in the past, this is an easy project for learning and perfecting the process. Learn more about paper piecing and get instructions here and here.
The designer, Mariesa Morgan from Ten Cow Quilts, provides instructions for 4 block sizes:
- 5″ finished (5 1/2″ unfinished)
- 6″ finished (6 1/2″ unfinished)
- 8″ finished (8 1/2″ unfinished)
- 10″ finished (10 1/2″ unfinished)
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
