Dig Into Your Stash and Make Several Gifts in an Afternoon!
This charming mug rug reminds us of the true meaning and gift of Christmas. Display this gentle reminder in your home or give it as a heartfelt gift to someone special.
In an hour or two, using fabrics you already have on hand, you can be enjoying this lovely little quilt.
Just about any color theme will work with this pattern. Tans and browns would give it a primitive look. Bright prints would be more modern. Use whatever fabrics touch your heart.
The pattern, by The Patchsmith, is made with fusible applique. Hand or machine quilt it, or simply do the outline blanket stitching through all layers for a quick finish.
The finished quilt measures about 9″ x 6″.
You can also enlarge it for a small wall quilt. You’ll find instructions here.
The pattern designer added the Nativity applique to a One Hour Basket for a quick gift. This is a beautiful example of how mug rug designs can be used in other projects. Learn more here.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
