Make Some for Your Tree and Others to Give!

Little star blocks are easy to personalize and so very charming. Make one for everyone in the family. They make wonderful gifts for friends, too.

Start with simple Sawtooth Star blocks and add pieced centers. Embroider the names by hand, by machine (if yours does letters), or use a permanent marker (learn more about choosing permanent markers here).

The little 4″ blocks, designed by Rose from Threadbare Creations, will be lovely on the tree. Or string them together for a garland, use them as gift-toppers, and even send them in Christmas cards.

Start with the 4″ Sawtooth Star blocks. Play with fabric and make them all in one color or make each one different.

You’ll find instructions for creating the personalized centers and turning the blocks into ornaments at the following link.

Note: Rose uses the word “wadding” for batting.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
