A Great Project for Leftovers, or Start Fresh with a Mini Charm Pack!

Choose your favorite fabric line for this pretty pillow and accent your selections with contrasting bands. Mini charms (2 1/2″) are perfect, or cut charm squares (5″) to size for the center patchwork.

Of course, you can also put together a lovely combination of leftovers from your stash. Choose two contrasting fabrics to set them off, in this case black and brown solids. This unexpected combination is simply beautiful.

The designer, Taunja Kelvington of Carried Away Quilting, created a second pillow with a pretty print in the bands across the top and bottom. That choice gives the pillow an entirely different look and is so lovely.

Both pillows are quilted with straight line quilting and have a pretty button in the center. Standard quilt binding finishes off the outside edges, and then a pillow form is inserted.

Once you have chosen your fabric, this is an easy project that you’ll have done before you know it.

The finished pillow is 16″ x 16″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
