Dress Up Your Windows with Matching Quilted Valances!

A beautiful quilt with matching valances can provide just the right finishing touch for any room. Hang the quilt or drape it over a sofa or bed. The valances are mini quilts with pockets on the back for hanging.

This scrappy quilt will be beautiful in just about any fabric combination. Modern fabrics, reproduction fabrics, primitive fabrics and even those hard-to-use fabrics can find a place in this quilt. Go full on scrappy, or choose from a selection of coordinated colors. You might even make the background fabric a color instead of white. Just about anything goes with this quilt pattern so have fun with it.

Brick Cottage Quilt and Valances

The valances are simply blocks from the overall quilt pattern made into mini quilts, like table runners. Instructions are not included but it won’t be hard to make your own to fit your windows. Add sleeves to the backs to slide through curtain rods.

The pattern, by Busy Hands Quilts, as been modified from the version shown in the photos above. The overall design runs up and down instead of side to side. It won’t be hard to change the orientation in yours if you prefer to do so.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
