Just Follow the Line for Wonderful Results!
Are you looking for a quilting design for your quilt’s borders? With straight-line quilting, it’s easy to run out of inspiration by the time you get to the borders. Take things up a notch with these creative designs.
All of them are simple to do and you’ll get wonderful results every time by marking your lines first. That way all you have to do is follow the lines as you’re moving the quilt through your machine.
Paige from Quilting Wemple recommends using a hera marker, as there are no marks to erase when you’re done. In fact, she considers it her secret weapon for straight-line quilting. You can get one here.
She also provides instructions for seven creative quilting designs created with a walking foot. These work nicely for borders of any width. See them all and learn how they’re done in the following article.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
