These Hearts are Easy Enough for Beginners!
Reproduction prints are so pretty in this beautiful quilt. It will be just as lovely in other colors and fabric styles.
Make it scrappy, or coordinate the colors. The choice is yours so have fun with it. Whatever you choose is sure to be wonderful made up in this pattern.
We can easily imagine this in reds for Valentine’s Day, made up in Civil War era prints, and even in vivid colors against a dark background.
Choose a wide array of fabrics from your stash. Go full on scrappy or organize around a color theme. Of course, you can start with new fabric, too. Pre-cuts will allow you to collect several to give it a scrappy look.
This quilt is an easy one to make, even for beginning quilters. Straight line quilting will finish it off beautifully. Or, add some free motion quilting if you’re so inclined.
The finished quilt is 44 1/8″ x 55 1/2″. It’s sized for a crib quilt or throw. However, you can make it larger by adding more blocks and adjusting the border to fit.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
